Today’s Mass Readings

Tuesday 28th Week of the Year

Luke 11:37 to 41

What is beautiful in God’s eyes?

I’m sure that we all have had those moments when we were just captivated by the beauty and awesome creation which God has given us.

That sense of awe is the praise that the Holy Spirit is giving our Heavenly Father in us.

We don’t need a mountain to experience that awe.

Every day there are many, many opportunities for the Holy Spirit to praise Him in us.

  • When that desire to buy something new and we really want it and maybe even need it, perhaps what we really need is to be kinder and especially generous to other people, especially people whose material needs are greater than our own.
  • Jesus says that when we give alms in such fashion, everything will be clean for us.

Jesus makes it easy for us to see the inside of the cup because those pangs of hunger to be like him are far greater and much more powerful than anything this world could offer us.

But we cannot just acknowledge those pangs of hunger.

We must experience them through sacrificial love.
