Members of our hospitality, greeters and ushers ministries are the faces of Blessed Sacrament parish.  The US Conference of Catholic Bishops conducted a survey on why Catholics leave the Church.  One of the reasons cited was “They did not experience warm, personal, caring relationships in their encounters with Catholics.”  As Mandy Rose said in her article ‘Little Ways to Live & Share Our Faith’: “So, smiling and being friendly may help someone feel welcome at Church and keep them coming back.”

The purpose of our Hospitality Ministry is to welcome all parishioners to the parish.  The hospitality ministry hosts an annual new parishioners’ breakfast, a parish picnic, and also provides refreshments for other parish functions throughout the year. Its leader is Cathy Boyles, who also leads the Greeters Ministry.  Our greeters welcome all parishioners into our church for Mass.  These individuals assist with the door and provide the type of welcome to our Parish that is warm and inviting.  Our Ushers’ Ministry is also devoted to welcoming and helping parishioners at Mass.  This includes assisting people with seating, collecting the offering, guiding the parishioners to Holy Communion and handing out the weekly bulletin. These ministries are open to all.
