Kids For Jesus Club – Becky Moultrie 804-9928

Are you a K4J? “Yes, I’m a Kid for Jesus!” Ask this question of one of the kids in our parish and this may be the response you will get. So what is K4J, you ask? K4J is a series of monthly programs that motivate kids to live virtue and love Christ through their Catholic faith. Each month, the kids receive a mission pack filled with activities that develop good habits and build upon the virtue of the month.

K4J was brought to our parish by Eric & Teryl Plaisance over seven years ago with our first Vacation Bible School. After two years of VBS, Becky Moultrie caught the K4J spirit and along with the Plaisances and several other parishioners, established the K4J monthly club in our parish. Meeting once a month, the kids learn a new virtue and about a different saint in the same fun format of VBS. This year, Becky is excited to expand the club to the Faith Formation classes in Grades 1 – 4. With the change, K4J Club meetings will now be on the first Sunday of the month from 10 – 11 AM. In addition to Faith Formation students, K4J continues to be open to kids ages 4 thru Grade 4. It’s a great introduction for the little ones who are pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten age to learn about the love of Jesus for the Church. The cost is just $30 for the whole year (no cost for those enrolled in Faith Formation this year, however, donations of any amount will help us offset the additional expense).

K4J also offers a leadership in training program for kids in grades 5 – 8 called K4J Captains. These kids get to lead the younger ones in skits, songs and other fun activities. There is no club fee for this age group. High school and adults helpers are always welcome and appreciated!

If you have a child interested in joining the K4J club, please contact Becky Moultrie at beckymoultrie@tampabay.rr.com or 727-804-9928. Reminder, Faith Formation students are automatically registered for K4J and do not need to sign up. You may also contact Christina Broadwell by email at youthministry.bsc@gmail.com. She is the BSC staff member who helps support the program and can assist teens needing service hours, volunteers for coffee and donuts, or for questions when unable to reach Becky.
